Shawn J. Walker CFP®, CRPC®
Describe your position
As a Managing Partner, I am responsible for the oversight of the firm’s 401(k) management, wealth management, and financial planning operations and the overall management and direction of the firm.
As a Financial Advisor, I draw on years of experience to offer my clients financial advice specifically for them.
What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned from your clients?
You can never communicate too much. You want someone to listen and understand where you are today, where you want to be tomorrow, and after that. My clients take comfort in knowing their financial advisor is just a phone call away. As your life changes, you want someone who knows you and can help adjust your strategy as you become more confident, more successful and set bigger goals for yourself.
Can you share a favorite kernel of wisdom for those just starting to invest and save?
Keep your head down and save as much as you can.
Find an advisor you can trust and whose fees are transparent and reasonable.
What professional accomplishments make you most proud?
I am very grateful that me and the other guys were able to buy the firm in 2013. I love the new energy of engagement that we’ve adopted while sticking to the fundamentals that make the firm so successful.
What are some causes you care about?
Locally the For The Kids charity is close to my heart. Nationally I support St. Jude’s.
What are your personal interests and passions?
Golfing and spending quality time with my wife Amy and our three children on the boat.
