Describe your position
As a Managing Partner, I am responsible for the oversight of the firm’s 401(k) management, wealth management, and financial planning operations and the overall management and direction of the firm.
As a Financial Advisor, I draw on years of experience to offer my clients financial advice specifically for them.
What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned from your clients?
It’s important to listen to them. No two people’s financial needs are the same, so cookie cutter doesn’t work. I listen to their needs and then try to provide smart solutions to their unique set of circumstances.
Can you share a favorite kernel of wisdom for those just starting to invest and save?
Start systematically saving now, today. The earlier you start the better. Then increase your saving over time. If you increase your savings a little bit every year, you won’t notice much of a difference in your paycheck but the savings really adds up over time.
What do you like most about being a part of the Scarborough team?
I like that our team feels like a family. Most of us have been working together for a long time and we have gotten to know each other very well. It makes it easy to bounce new ideas around and get buy in for new initiatives.
What professional accomplishments make you most proud?
Purchasing the firm and becoming a Managing Partner. The professional growth I went through while acclimating to my responsibilities as a Managing Partner and keeping the same level of dedication to my clients.
What are your personal interests and passions?
Boating, fishing in the Chesapeake Bay, skiing, and traveling. But it is the quality time that I spent with my wife Jamie and our three children that I treasure the most.
